Boots and Connection Problems: Why They Happen and How to Fix Them
First, Why do connection problems happen?
GamingPeak is different than other online game sites like Safe Harbor Games, WGC, and Rengames: it runs in your browser, using the latest technologies. Problems staying connected to GamingPeak are often caused not by GamingPeak, but by other plugins, browser issues, and Flash stability issues.
GamingPeak is compatible with several web browsers and different versions of Adobe Flash. Many of you have firewalls, browser plugins, toolbars, and other unique settings on your computer. If any of these programs have bugs, glitches, or non-standard settings, you may experience problems at GamingPeak. As these programs update themselves, you will find your experience at GamingPeak and other cutting-edge websites improve.
Follow the instructions below to resolve problems with GamingPeak lobbies. GamingPeak is *not* the cause of most problems, but these steps will help you fix them.
If you suddenly can’t see other people’s chat:
This means that your internet connection disappeared for a moment. To fix this problem, simply exit and re-enter the room. Make sure your internet is still working.
If this doesn’t solve your problem, continue reading below.
If you get a spinning circle trying to get into the room:
This means that something is wrong with either your Flash installation or your cache. First, make sure you have installed the latest version of Flash Player. This page will tell you which version you have.. Make sure that the page there says you have version 9 or 10. If you don’t, you can download the latest version at this page.

If you still have problems after trying the above solutions:
Clear your browser cache and cookies. Instructions for doing this on your browser can be found at this link.
Clearing cache and cookies often helps if you have already tried re-entering the room and you are sure your internet is working.
Some browser toolbars and plugins cause unexpected problems with new websites like GamingPeak. Try disabling your toolbars or extensions — that helps a LOT of people.
When all else fails:
Sometimes your computer has so many non-standard settings that a particular browser won’t work for some reason. If you still have problems after all of the steps above (including removing your extensions, if any), try a different browser from the list below:
- Google Chrome (available here)
- Internet Explorer 8
- Mozilla Firefox
Remember: Many different programs have to work together to make GamingPeak work. Most often, you can fix problems connecting to GamingPeak by following the instructions above. GamingPeak uses technology that is very new, in the browser, and sometimes browsers/toolbars have trouble. As they release new updates, you’ll find your experience at GamingPeak improve noticeably.
